I am running for trustee because I am passionate about the importance of education in our communities. I’m invested in education as a parent, and I also believe that everyone benefits when young people attend thriving public schools.
I view the role of a trustee as a voice for students, schools and communities. If elected I would strive to listen to the people living in Ward C and advocate at the district level for the issues that they believe are important. I believe in partnerships and collaboration with citizens and community groups, as well as important stakeholders. I will use my experience in collaboration and creative problem-solving to advocate for improved funding for public schools at a provincial level, particularly for infrastructure funding – if families would like to send their children to schools in their community, they need adequate space in a community where they live.
